About ASCO
ASCO is a non-profit organisation which has N.G.O. (non-government organisation) status, has a core staff of management and activity facilitators, and is governed by a Board of Trustees.
The Programme
Members are linked to an Activity Facilitator, once Membership Details are completed. The Member and Facilitator develop a Lifestyle Plan which sets out short and long term goals and how and when these are to be achieved. This enables the plan to be outcome focussed.
The facilitator's role is to work alongside Members to assist them to meet their goals. This often involves linking members to outside agencies that provide services such as employment, training, accommodation, budgeting and healthcare. ASCO encourages participation within our activity programme.
We aim to develop a sense of community with Members by encouraging them to become actively involved in making decisions about the operation of their Centre. This assists in improving self-esteem and develops a sense of empowerment and progress towards recovery.
Our Activity Programme offers a wide range of opportunities for Members including:
- Health and wellbeing
- Education
- Enhancing life skills
- Work readiness
- A sense of creativity
- Culture awareness
